Ajaccio
Many museums are dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte, the hero of Ajaccio and every year, on August 15, the city celebrates the anniversary of his birth with great fanfare. The town is charming with shady alleys and a pretty beach behind which stands an alley planted with trees. The port is buzzing with activity and the market that is held daily in the old town is a real pleasure: you must at all costs taste the pastries, cheeses and liqueurs that are sold there.
